Russian Helicopters and AgustaWestland - Start Building Joint Civil AW139 Final Assembly Line Plant
Russian Helicopters (subsidiary of JSC UIC Oboronprom, part of Russian Technologies State Corporation) and AgustaWestland (a Finmeccanica company) are pleased to announce that the set up of a joint civil AW139 medium twin helicopter final assembly plant started with a ground-breaking ceremony today. A time capsule was laid in the base of the foundation at the industrial area in Tomilino, near Moscow, during the official ceremony which was attended by representatives and dignitaries from the partners.

SELEX Sistemi Integrati wins Forza NEC contract worth EUR 238 million
Finmeccanica, through its subsidiary SELEX Sistemi Integrati, has signed a contract worth EUR 238 million with the Land Armaments General Directorate of the Italian Ministry of Defence to supply the Italian armed forces with a digitised system known as Forza NEC (Network Enabled Capability).

Finmeccanica Announces AgustaWestland Agreement with Boeing for U.S.
Today, Finmeccanica announced an AgustaWestland agreement with the Boeing Company for the U.S. Navy’s Marine One presidential helicopter program (VXX). Boeing secured the rights to use AgustaWestland intellectual property, data and production rights to integrate the AW101 into a Boeing product for the VXX program. AgustaWestland will keep a role in developing the programme and will be awarded a significant part of the basic helicopter production.

Finmeccanica, through Alenia North America (a subsidiary of Alenia Aeronautica) received an additional order for 8 C-27Js JCA (Joint Cargo Aircraft) for the U.S. Air Force, valued at $319 million. These aircraft are scheduled for delivery to L-3, Finmeccanica’s U.S. partner, throughout 2012.

Guarguaglini participates in Foreign Investors Council and Investment Summit in Kazakhstan Chairman and CEO of Finmeccanica, Pier Francesco Guarguaglini, took part in the Foreign Investors Council and the Kazakhstan Investment Summit held in Almaty on 3-4 June 2010 at the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaev, and the Kazakh prime minister, Karim Massimov. During the proceedings, Mr Guarguaglini met with President Nazarbaev, Prime Minister Massimov and other ministers.

Ansaldo Energia and AREVA sign nuclear power Memorandum of Understanding
As part of the intergovernmental agreements between France and Italy to co-operate in nuclear power generation, Ansaldo Energia and its subsidiary Ansaldo Nucleare, both part of the Finmeccanica Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with AREVA in Paris today. AnsaldoBreda wins contract worth EUR 33 million with ATM to revamp Milan’s Jumbo trams
AnsaldoBreda, a Finmeccanica company, has won a contract to revamp ATM’s “Jumbo trams” (series 4900), operational in Milan since the end of the 1970s. The contract, worth EUR 33 million, relates to a first batch of 51 vehicles, and the company is expected to have an option for a further 49 trams. Delivery of the first vehicle is scheduled for 14 months after the order, and delivery of the last after 40 months.

e-GEOS (Telespazio/ASI) signs framework contract with the European Union to supply GeoEye-1 and IKONOS very high resolution satellite data
Rome, 16 marzo 2010 - e-GEOS, the company jointly owned by Telespazio and the Italian Space Agency, has signed a framework supply contract with the European Union, through the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission. Under the up to 4 year contract, which is worth approximately EUR 5.4 million per year, e-GEOS will provide the Union with world-wide Very High Resolution images from the GeoEye-1 and IKONOS satellites.
