Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. (CDP) and Finmeccanica S.p.A. today signed an agreement on the basis of which CDP commits to buy from Finmeccanica all its 33,770,436 shares in STMicroelectronics NV (STM) shares indirectly owned by the group through STMicroelectronics Holding NV (STH).

Finmeccanica and Russian Technologies State Corporation today signed in Rome an Agreement of Intent with a view of establishing a joint venture for complex security systems production. The agreement was signed by Pier Francesco Guarguaglini, Chairman and CEO of Finmeccanica and Sergey Viktorovich Chemezov, General Director of Russian Technologies State Corporation, at the Italian-Russian summit meeting in the presence of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

ANSALDOBREDA AND BOMBARDIER TOGETHER IN THE BID FOR NEW HIGH-SPEED TRAINS
The super-fast, eco-friendly train that is to take part to the tender announced by Trenitalia will be built entirely by AnsaldoBreda (Finmeccanica Group) and Bombardier. The two companies were invited to bid for the tender, which is for 50 high-speed trains. The new train will travel at more than 300 km/h and will consume up to 50% less fuel than the high-speed trains currently in service, thanks to new environmentally-friendly technology.

AgustaWestland North America Awarded U.S. Navy Contract
AgustaWestland North America (AWNA) is pleased to announce that it was recently awarded a $17.35M U.S. Navy contract to provide depot level maintenance on three Egyptian Mk-2 variant H-3 helicopters. The contract provides full funding for this effort, which began in November 2008, and calls for complete refurbishment of the aircraft structure and all aircraft components. AWNA will also complete all safety checks to ensure the aircraft are flight ready.

The Italian group, world leader in the aeronautics sector, will be present through its companies Alenia Aeronautica (aircraft, aerostructures), Alenia Aermacchi (trainer aircraft), AgustaWestland (helicopters), SELEX Communications (secure communications solutions) and SELEX Galileo (avionics, radar, UAV), which will display their capabilities in the aeronautics sector. The contract also covers the provision of training for operators, as well as installation and system management support.

This MoU was announced today in Rome in the presence of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The agreement includes the possibility of setting up technological centres of excellence.

The musical performance will feature Carlo Rizzari, Assistant Conductor at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy, and the New York Opera Society Chamber Orchestra. Following the performance, Finmeccanica North America will make a special presentation and donation to The Aleethia Foundation in recognition of their support of wounded warriors.

The contract is for a year of training classes. The initial classes of Air Advisors have completed or are nearing the completion of their courses.

Finmeccanica brings to conclusion its debt structure optimization plan by issuing
Today Finmeccanica, through its wholly owned subsidiary Meccanica Holdings USA Inc., issued bonds in the US debt capital market in a private placement for an aggregate amount of 500 million dollar with a 30 year maturity (2040) and a coupon of 6.25%. The issue price is 99.836%. Coupons are payable semi-annually. The notes are fully guaranteed by Finmeccanica S.p.A. and will be listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
