Agreements signed between Telespazio and DRS Technologies, companies of the Finmeccanica Group
Telespazio, a Finmeccanica/Thales company, has signed agreements for two separate contracts with DRS Technologies, which was acquired by Finmeccanica in October 2008. The agreement covers the provision of telecommunications services via the Italian SICRAL satellites and the Telespazio satellite telecommunications centre in Fucino.

The Alenia Aermacchi M-346 advanced trainer made its first supersonic flight, reaching Mach 1.15 in the “supersonic corridor” off the Italian Riviera coast. The first prototype M-346 reached this important milestone during a 75 minute flight which began and ended on the company airfield at Venegono Superiore.

Alenia Aeronautica Signs Contract for Four Maritime Patrol ATR72s
Alenia Aeronautica, a Finmeccanica company, and the Direzione Generale Armamenti Aeronautici (General Management for Aeronautical Armaments) of the Defence Ministry, have reached an agreement for the supply of four ATR72 Maritime Patrol aircraft. The medium-range, twin-engine turbine airplanes will be delivered to the Italian Air Force starting from 2012, to be used for the maritime patrolling with mixed crews with the Italian Navy.

Ansaldo STS - US&S Pens $30M China CBTC Contracts
Ansaldo STS – Union Switch & Signal (US&S), through its subsidiary, Union Switch & Signal International (USSI), signed subcontracts for two new Communications Based Train Control (CBTC) projects as part of its strategic Alliance Agreement with Zhejiang Zheda INSIGMA Group Company Ltd. (“INSIGMA”), based in Hangzhou, China. The contracts have a combined value of approximately $30 million USD for Ansaldo STS – US&S.
