Here’s a sensor system that packs high-performance day-and-night targeting into a package that’s half the size and weight of devices offering comparable capability.

DRS’s GS410 is a single unit measuring just 10.3 inches in diameter and weighing in at under 45 pounds. Yet it offers four-axis stabilization and accommodates a full range of capabilities – not only high-performance FLIR but also 36X color zoom TV, laser pointer, eye-safe laser rangefinder, and optional dual-mode laser rangerfinder/designator, all integrated with an automatic video tracker.

And there’s more! Its serial digital control/data interface, for instance, is compatible with moving-map/geo-locating systems, searchlights, and digital data links. And its tenacious, multi-mode automatic tracker eases operator workload during surveillance and tracking operations, while providing long-range capability for laser designation during targeting operations.

The GS410’s state-of-the-art FLIR is a three-FOV, 640x480 mid-wave IR sensor with a 12-micron pixel pitch. Its small pixel size is the reason this device is such an excellent low-power IR imager for long-range thermal imaging – and such a compact and lightweight solution.

This system also features single-LRU configuration to keep cabling to a minimum, thereby simplifying installation and integration.

The result? A system to put our Warfighters immediately at the forefront of surveillance and targeting on either manned or unmanned platforms.
